Adductor longus is a long thin adductor muscle. It arises from the pubic bone of the pelvis and inserts into the medial mid-portion of the linea aspera. It lies anterior to adductor magnus and forms the medial border of the femoral triangle.
It is innervated by the obturator nerve.
In addition to adducting the thigh it is also a medial rotator and weak hip flexor.
