The internal iliac artery branches:
The posterior cerebral artery forms part of the Circle of Willis. It is a branch of the basilar artery.
The average diameter of the abdominal aorta is 2cm. Anything wider than 3cm is consider to be an aneurysm. Aneurysms are at risk of gradually expanding and an aortic diameter of 5.5cm or more is at high risk of rupture. If this occurs 50% of people will die before reaching hospital.
The anterior tibial artery passes between the tibia and fibula over the upper edge of the interosseous membrane. The posterior tibial artery forms and remains in the posterior compartment.
