The cuneiform cartilage

The cuneiform cartilages are small elastic cartilages imbedded in the aryepiglottic folds superior to the corniculate cartilages. There is one on each side.

They are readily visible during laryngoscopy as whitish areas beneath the mucosa of the aryepiglottic folds.
